{"id":645,"date":"2010-11-28T12:30:07","date_gmt":"2010-11-28T16:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gloriacrist.com\/blog\/?p=645"},"modified":"2010-12-02T17:49:41","modified_gmt":"2010-12-02T21:49:41","slug":"chicken-dance-part-duex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gloriacrist.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/chicken-dance-part-duex\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Dance Part Duex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gloriacrist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/rired1.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"rired\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriacrist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/rired1.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-646\" title=\"rired\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gloriacrist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/rired1.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <em>other <\/em>neighbor complained.\u00a0 Renters.<\/p>\n<p>At first, he thought the chickens were ours.\u00a0 So in the driveway he pulls, in the company truck, no less, as we were just getting back from a nice lunch.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are those your chickens?&#8221;, he says.\u00a0 He is a\u00a0burly and rather large. man.\u00a0 I get the idea the seat has a permanent dent and the springs are singing.\u00a0 &#8220;My wife hates those chickens.&#8221;, he says out the\u00a0window.\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;They are shitt&#8217;in all over the place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nope&#8221;, my husband says, &#8220;not ours&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Never mind the fact that one of those chickens, despite the obvious affection previously demonstrated for my beloved, had the nerve to , well, shit on his tractor seat.\u00a0 His beloved tractor-defaced.\u00a0 There are some rules that just should not be broken when it comes to tractors and chickens.\u00a0 But even then, he liked having the hens coo and cluck behind him as he wandered.\u00a0 Men.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well,&#8221; Mr. Burly says( he never bothered to introduced himself), &#8220;I just might have one for Thanksgiving if they don&#8217;t stop shitt&#8217;in all over our yard.\u00a0 &#8220;Free range my ass.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My daughter is laughing at this point.\u00a0 No doubt the use of &#8220;shit&#8221; and &#8220;ass&#8221; got her going.<\/p>\n<p>With that, burly man is out the drive way and onto the neighbors.\u00a0 The ones who own the chickens.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And then, no more chickens.\u00a0 No more mornings with the hens.\u00a0 No more free ranging from here to there, a scratching and a clawing at bugs.\u00a0The dance is done. \u00a0Cooped up for good.\u00a0 Huddled together, red feather to red feather.
