\"\"<\/a>………………………………”it is all because”, he\u00a0paused as he stared off into the distance, looking for a vision, maybe?\u00a0\u00a0 And then he drew in a deep cleansing breath- started right into my eyes and repeated:<\/p>\n

“It is all because God drew his hand away from that whole area”\u00a0\u00a0 “God lifted his hand and allowed things to unfold as they did”\u00a0 “Haiti. Was. In Trouble.<\/p>\n

and then more:\u00a0\u00a0 “Well,” she said, with a\u00a0slow forgiving sigh, “I think there is truth in Pat Robertson’s statement”<\/p>\n

Wait.\u00a0 What?<\/p>\n

“There was evil going on in Haiti”, she said. \u00a0“Pure evil”.\u00a0\u00a0“They all\u00a0made a pact with the devil so God gave them what they wanted.\u00a0 The wrath. The fury.\u00a0 The end result of no longer\u00a0having the hand of God as it sits upon us.”<\/p>\n

And she smiled.\u00a0 A pursed lipped soft smile and continued.<\/p>\n

“But now, you see, God is good!”\u00a0 “Now, there is relief flowing into the country.\u00a0 There are miracles happening in the rubble.”\u00a0 “Now, there will be the rebirth of Christianity and Haiti will now\u00a0really know the hand of God”\u00a0 “God is good”<\/p>\n

Wait. What?<\/p>\n

I have friends, dear friends I love and respect who\u00a0have\u00a0a different set of religious rules.\u00a0 I have my God, my universe, my Grace- is not the norm around here.\u00a0 I know there are things\u00a0we\u00a0can discuss in the religious sector-and then, I am quite certain,\u00a0 there are some things we will never discuss-ever.\u00a0 Godly things- or rather ungodly.<\/p>\n

What then of Scott Roder?\u00a0 A member of the God squad, on a mission to murder a doctor who ran a clinic that provided abortions.\u00a0 Scott said God\u00a0told him\u00a0to “Kill!”.\u00a0 And crazy Scott did just that.\u00a0 God said so.<\/p>\n

Really?<\/p>\n

And now in the wake of health care reform-some very unhappy members of the republican party are inciting hate with their words and performing acts of violence.\u00a0 God told them so\u00a0too.\u00a0 And this is not mild anger.\u00a0 These have been purposeful fits of hate.\u00a0 These God loving people.\u00a0 Haters all the same.<\/p>\n

Really.<\/p>\n

I wonder though, as I think my thoughts, how many of those against reform have really nice insurance.\u00a0 I wonder why the republicans have not been so vocal about the abuse of welfare in this country.\u00a0 How fair ( though I honestly believe the word fair\u00a0should be removed from the English language) it is to so many hard working people that there are some, actually, a whole heck of a lot- who make more money off the government by sitting on their ass.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Lazy ass suckers making more money\u00a0for nothing than the\u00a0average worker who gets up to go to work everyday.\u00a0How does God\u00a0feel about this?\u00a0 \u00a0Chew on that Sarah Palin.\u00a0 Why not incite those lazy suckers to go out, get a job and actually contribute?\u00a0 And what about the rising teen pregnancy rate?\u00a0 Teenagers have sex.\u00a0 Why not preach safe sex and get teens to understand a baby will not make them feel more loved.\u00a0\u00a0Teenagers should not have babies( and for the record, it is not a baby until it is born).\u00a0\u00a0There.\u00a0 I said it.\u00a0\u00a0Some say\u00a0God wanted it this way.\u00a0 He knew teens would have mad crazy sex and bring more babies into the world.\u00a0 The world needs more babies.<\/p>\n

Really?<\/p>\n

Who is going to take care of the neglected babies?\u00a0 Sarah Palin?\u00a0 Glen Beck….blech?\u00a0<\/p>\n

God?<\/p>\n

What if the hand of God came down really hard?\u00a0 What if he threw down a smashing two fisted slam onto the table of righteousness.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Who would be saved then?<\/p>\n

Or blamed?<\/p>\n

Just once, just for one minute, I want to meet the person who has shook the hand of God-or better yet, had his ear.<\/p>\n

And then what?<\/p>\n
