\u00a0<\/p>\n

No, this will not be an article about abortion.\u00a0 No, this will not be an article\u00a0about pro-choice-which, by the way, I support.\u00a0 This is an article\u00a0about personal observations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

First, of all.\u00a0 I am saddened we still live in a world where another man can shoot and kill an individual, usually another\u00a0man,\u00a0because of a woman’s issue-and blame it all on God.\u00a0 And then a group of people who claim they are doing the work of God can\u00a0come forth and say when one of their own kills, it is okay-but if a woman chooses, yes, that word, again, CHOOSES, CHOICE)\u00a0to end her pregnancy, she is a murderer, and so is the doctor who performed the procedure.\u00a0 I don’t pretend to be ultra religious,there are things about “religion” I simply do not understand, and I think,\u00a0like many other things, people\u00a0hide behind “religion”.\u00a0\u00a0But it seems to me that even God does not see the logic in that\u00a0kind of killing-and certainly, he, or she would not give a thumbs up to blatant\u00a0killing.\u00a0 Right?\u00a0 I mean it is the same sin.\u00a0 Kill in a robbery, kill your wife, kill your neighbor, kill the doctor down the street. It is still killing- regardless of the motivation.\u00a0 God said so.<\/p>\n

And why is it that only overweight, pasty and psychotic white men are “doing the work of women and God” by killing doctors?\u00a0 And then more white men-with really bad hair and fake tans-are supporting those other crazy ass white\u00a0men who kill.\u00a0 I wonder what would happen if these men had to care for an unwanted child-or a child born with severe disabilities for even a day.\u00a0 What then?\u00a0\u00a0How\u00a0would these crazy ass white men\u00a0tell a woman who has been raped by a stranger, or a family member,\u00a0she will have to continue on with the pregnancy that has resulted from the rape, and raise that soon to be child ( no, it is not a baby until it is born-I don’t care what those crazy ass white men say)-with love and attention. Do they not think she will do what she has to to avoid this very thing?\u00a0 And who\u00a0will support this woman and child?\u00a0 So God says this is okay too?\u00a0 What about the thousands of children and young adults in the system- cared for by the state with a stream of emotional issues whose parents ( or parent) simply gave them away or worse, abused them for years.\u00a0 What then, crazy ass right to lifers?\u00a0 What then?\u00a0 God says this is okay?<\/p>\n

\u00a0I am a mom. I have never had to make a gut wrenching decision\u00a0like countless women have to make everyday all over the world.\u00a0 But I have worked with women who helped those women make a choice.\u00a0\u00a0I have not had to bare the burden of single parenthood or the stresses of a difficult child-but I have worked with children who have been abused, raped, sacrificed, humiliated, sold, pimped out, tortured\u00a0 and left to survive on a street corner.\u00a0 Some who don’t even know who their parents ( or parent)\u00a0is-the only life they know is\u00a0a life in the system.\u00a0 What then right to lifers?\u00a0 Are you going to tell me this is a better life for these kids?\u00a0 Is another crazy ass white man going to hunt down the parents of these children and kill them too?<\/p>\n

I have to tread lightly where I live.\u00a0 I once had to delay a rehearsal so a Right to Life march could start on time in the local\u00a0town commons.\u00a0 I watched in horror as children ( and adults) followed behind a golf cart with a statue of Mother Mary on the back of the cart.\u00a0 Mother Mary was\u00a0perched on a bale of hay-securely bound by bungee cords.\u00a0 Wanna guess at who was\u00a0driving the cart?\u00a0\u00a0This group of 25 or so were\u00a0chanting “Don’t kill the babies!!”.\u00a0 Some of these children, and adults, had photos of dead fetuses around their necks.\u00a0 What exactly does this teach?\u00a0 God likes this?\u00a0 I guess as a woman of choice, I have to respect the beliefs of this particular group.\u00a0 But to make\u00a0a child participate?\u00a0<\/p>\n

My argument is not against those who believe in something entirely different than I.\u00a0 My argument is\u00a0for those who\u00a0impose that belief on someone else who may not- or to take the life of another individual who is assisting someone else with\u00a0her CHOICE.\u00a0 And stop blaming it all on God.\u00a0 For a group who says they are for the right to life-what gives them the right to take the <\/a>life of another?<\/p>\n
