It’s happening. I can’t stop it.\u00a0 No, I have not\u00a0quite\u00a0perfected the skill of shutting up my thought before it gets to my mouth-but I have been working on it and I will say, I have been successful on numerous occasions. I have, at times,\u00a0stopped the flow of foot into mouth.<\/p>\n
BUT- just as the daffodils break through the cold ,hard top layer of soil “en thaw”-recent thoughts are breaking through my\u00a0practiced\u00a0self filters from\u00a0brain to mouth.\u00a0My own\u00a0self entitled “en thaw”.\u00a0 \u00a0Me thinks this might be like the compulsive dieter who\u00a0avoids any and all things deemed bad\u00a0in the process of dieting-but then breaks down, in a moment of weakness, and\u00a0eats a whole gallon of ice cream\u00a0and\/or bucket of extra crispy KFC, not necessarily in that order.<\/p>\n
I have tried to write out my strongest of opinions-to keep them private and\u00a0somewhat contained.\u00a0 I have tried to go ’round\u00a0my opinions and dilute them\u00a0with practiced presentation skills; to somehow\u00a0soften the blow.\u00a0\u00a0Then there are times I can’t hold my tongue-tinged with ego\u00a0juice I am sure- and I am caught with either someone in agreement-or someone who does not know what to say in response.\u00a0 Not that my thoughts or opinions carry all that much weight.\u00a0 I mean, c’mon.\u00a0 Poor me.\u00a0 I was born with that particular\u00a0gene that goes kaflooey at the worst of times.\u00a0 That being in direct proportion\u00a0with my strongest of opinion at the exact moment of me expressing it.<\/p>\n
I know someone who filters nothing.\u00a0 She rambles on in a narcissistic tinged thought process that is to be marveled..if not annoying.\u00a0 Her spews, after all- are simply her opinions. I find it freeing to listen to her ramble on-whether I agree with her or not.\u00a0But isn’t this the rage of media pop culture now?\u00a0 Find someone, anyone, with a title, make it up if you\u00a0have to,\u00a0and get them\u00a0on a panel or pay them to\u00a0appear on a talk show and “give an\u00a0opinion” on the current\u00a0crisis, celebrity mishap, missing child, death\u00a0or instant uber status.\u00a0 I can not hear one more word on Nadya Suleman.\u00a0 She is crazy.\u00a0 Just crazy.\u00a0AND she has children.\u00a0\u00a0She went from crazy to\u00a0pathetic\u00a0and psychotic\u00a0overnight and\u00a0the media\u00a0has\u00a0been celebrating her nuttiness all\u00a0along the way-if not being\u00a0somewhat responsible for feeding it.\u00a0 \u00a0 If the media would go away she would too.\u00a0 Her children will suffer for years to come- and if you think she is crazy now, wait until she is no longer the media darling she created herself to be.\u00a0 Then what?\u00a0 Her children will suffer even more.\u00a0 Why not concentrate on the thousands of crazy people having children every day?- or the countless number of repeat\u00a0teen pregnancies?\u00a0 What about those?\u00a0 I can not hear one more word about Caley or Casey Anthony.\u00a0 Clearly, that is\u00a0a\u00a0family that has beeb\u00a0in deep, deep trouble for a long time.\u00a0 It is clear the skeletons tucked away in that South Florida home are having one hell of a time.\u00a0 \u00a0The daily hanging up of their dirty laundry is nothing new.\u00a0 Just find her guilty and be done with it.\u00a0 I wonder what will\u00a0happen to them all-when they too are no longer in the news?\u00a0 They’ll write a book.\u00a0 Just you wait.\u00a0I am on my third day of boycotting pop media\u00a0 and I can already see great results.\u00a0 Besides there is\u00a0plenty to talk about here\u00a0in my\u00a0own little\u00a0town.<\/p>\n
I will always voice\u00a0 ( impose?) my opinion on\u00a0issues that matter most to me, my family or for things that\u00a0benefit the greater\u00a0good.\u00a0 I will\u00a0speak loudest\u00a0if I am\u00a0wittness\u00a0to some great\u00a0unjust- or unnecessary suffering.\u00a0And for those who\u00a0knowingly cause\u00a0aforementioned unjust or suffering?\u00a0\u00a0Watch out if I lose my temper-I have a hard time finding it.\u00a0\u00a0I think I am beginning to voice\u00a0 (impose?) <\/em>my opinion(s) on\u00a0this town and the rumors surfacing about\u00a0how the Town Council must raise\u00a0our taxes again- which would\u00a0make it the fourth time\u00a0since 2003.\u00a0God forbid they let anything exciting and new happen in this town.\u00a0 Change?\u00a0 Here? Bite your tongue.\u00a0No big box, no book store, no\u00a0nothing of any kind.\u00a0 At least a good grocery store?\u00a0 Please, old town council members?\u00a0 We want more.\u00a0 Give our kids something to do.\u00a0 Then\u00a0maybe you won;t have to hide the ridiculous teen drinking rate- or domestic abuse.\u00a0 Yes, I know.\u00a0 But then this\u00a0would mean the tax payers would no longer be the single biggest and just about only source of a\u00a0tax\u00a0base.\u00a0<\/p>\n Better watch it, we’ll all leave.\u00a0 Old and young.\u00a0 Old timers and young families.\u00a0 We will forsake the landscape and go\u00a0somewhere else.\u00a0 \u00a0AND then what of your stone walls and vacant buildings?\u00a0 But I have already been warned-better watch my opinion, they will say.\u00a0\u00a0Hold your tongue missy,\u00a0when it comes to this town.\u00a0 Watch what you say, your daughter will suffer.\u00a0\u00a0And that\u00a0is enough. Enough for even me\u00a0to forfeit the foot for this tongue.<\/p>\n
